Minds Matter's Impact Study
Minds Matter surveyed our alumni in 2008 to gauge our effectiveness:
- 99% of alumni said that Minds Matter provides high-achieving, low-income high school students
with greater confidence that they can achieve academic excellence in college and beyond
- 97% say participation in Minds Matter makes high-achieving, low-income students more
competitive college applicants
- 94% say that Minds Matter served a critical/important role in the success of their college
application and submission processes and made a substantial difference in the financial aid
process
- Minds Matter showed impressive results with scores about 20-40 points higher than the DHPY
survey by the Goldman Sachs Foundation on five key areas needed for college success
- Ability to write clearly and effectively
- Time management
- Ability to communicate
- Capacity for critical thinking
- Motivation to succeed in college
